When a client commissions me to create a piece of furniture I will discuss, usually in person, any specific requirements and ensure that I can fulfil the brief effectively. With made to measure items this will involve a visit to carefully measure and assess the area where the furniture is to be positioned. Once I know all the specifications I can then develop a design proposal and costing.
Clients are not obliged to go ahead with the commission until they are fully satisfied with the final design brief. A 30% deposit is required on starting the work, with the remainder payable either in installments throughout the making process or on delivery.
